Big Sister Jessica On Mentoring

We are always asking our volunteers about their experience as a "Big." Recently, Big Sister Jessica at Duquesne offered her thoughts. Read below:

Why did you become a Big Sister? I became a Big Sister for many reasons but they aren’t the same reasons that I continue to be a Big. For example, the feeling you get when you see changes (even small ones) in your Little – it’s the best feeling in the world!

What I have learned from being a Big? I’ve learned how to relax and have fun like I’m a kid again!

What surprised me about being a Big? How much I learned about myself and how much I have learned from a 13 year old!

Other thoughts on your experience as a mentor. I am glad to be a Big Sister and wouldn’t trade the last two years for anything!
